Wintering Male Siberian Blue Robin. A large amount of field work went into producing this painting. Most of this picture was painted in the forest in Khao Yai National Park, Thailand, March 2000. The butress featured is about 800 m from the main road along trail 33 on the right hand side of the path. Although a common wintering bird in Thailand, the Siberian Blue Robin can be difficult to view well.

Garnet Pitta. This painting was the overall winner of the Bird Artist of the Year 2002, Birdwatch magazine (see May edition). The composition was formulated in Thailand. I have never seen Garret Pitta in Thailand. I have, however, seen them very well in Borneo.

Red-backed Thrush - race Kabaena. This painting is the front cover of the 2002 edition of Forktail (Oriental Bird Club). This race of Red-backed Thrush was discovered in 2000 on Kabaena, Indonesia.
