This photo of a Spanish Imperial Eagle was taken on the Extramudura in April 2007. I was totally unprepared for a raptor flight shot, with a double and 1.4 converter stacked. Worse still, in the excitement I forgot that I was in manual focus mode. Thinking I was in AF mode, I couldn't work out why the lens was not autofocussing. Anyway the bird looked in focus, so I pressed the button to take the pictures. Luckily for me, the bird had flown exactly through the plane of focus!!
